Position 1: (Deputy) Research Program Manager

(The title of Research Program Manager or Deputy Research Program Manager will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.)

LOCATIONShenzhen, China

SALARY: Highly competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience and in accordance with the salary system of GTSI. 

JOB PURPOSE: Plan and manage the administrative support for research programs and projects. Includes supervision of program/project related financial accounting and reporting, coordination of proposal preparation and submissions, event management and general office support.

IMPACT & INFLUENCE: This position will interact on a consistent basis with: national, provincial and local government agencies, companies, institutions, faculty, research scientists and research engineers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties may include but are not limited to:

 Participate in the drafting and implementation of the annual research plans and goals of GTSI.

 Support faculty in their research efforts at GTSI.

 Promote the establishment of a number of scientific research centers, and establish joint laboratories in conjunction with leading universities, research institutions and enterprises at home and abroad.

 Establish and implement administrative policies, procedures and guidelines applicable to research projects, including but not limited to: research deliverable management, grant funding management, and intellectual property management.

 Organize and assist the research teams of GTSI to actively apply for vertical research projects at the national, provincial and municipal levels, and promote horizontal research cooperation with enterprises on GTSIs research platform.

 Identify funding sources. Advise faculty on budget development, financial scenario and strategic planning, and financial forecasting in response to grant solicitations and requests for proposals.

 Organize and facilitate proposal preparation and submission.

 Coordinate funding agency site visits and review response reports.

 Liaison with accounting personnel regarding program budgets, expenses, inventory, etc.

 Monitor and coordinate the preparation of research project reports.

 Manage periodic critical reviews of funded research projects.

 Make arrangement for program related workshops, meetings and other events.

 Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position 2: (Deputy) IT Support Manager

(The title of IT Support Manager / Deputy IT Support Manager will be commensurate with qualification and experience.)

JOB PURPOSE: Oversee GTSI network planning, GTSI website and information platform development, maintenance of GTSI network and computer systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties may include but are not limited to:

 Configure, install and support network infrastructures and software.

 Test and evaluate network systems.

 Analyze network related problems and recommend solutions.

 Identify Information security threats and vulnerabilities and recommend measures required to mitigate them.

 Manage campus IT system backup, data archiving and disaster recovery.

 Participate in the development of GTSI web site.

 Resolve campus IT-related issues and provide answers in a timely manner.

Position 3: (Deputy) Campus Services Manager

(The title of Campus Services Manager / Deputy Campus Services Manager will be commensurate with qualification and experience.)

LOCATIONShenzhen, China

JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for the management and operation of GTSI campus services, property management and campus security. Oversee the GTSI central purchasing function to ensure that the material and service requirements of GTSI are met in a timely, efficient, effective and ethical manner. Implement the property control function within GTSI in identifying, recording and reporting all institute property, on a campus-wide basis and supporting the oversight of the fiscal assets.

IMPACT & INFLUENCE: This position will interact on a consistent basis with: faculty, staff, students, parents, and vendors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Oversee a diverse set of campus service functions including student housing, faculty apartments, dining services, campus vending, campus access, safety and security.

 Provide oversight to campus vendors to ensure delivery of quality products and services.

 Oversee preventive maintenance, landscaping, utilities, elevators, and plants operations.

 Monitor and maintain building security and safe practices.

 Confer with faculty/staff purchasers to identify and develop terms and conditions of procurement contracts. Negotiate contract terms and conditions.

 Advise suppliers regarding institute procurement policies, procedures and practices. Coordinate and facilitate communications between campus end-users and suppliers.

 Provide oversight of all purchases in compliance with institute and local government policies and procedures.

 Oversee the inventory tagging and inventory records management processes.

 Plan, organize and manage the annual GTSI inventory process.

 Perform other related duties as assigned.

JOB PURPOSE: Support GTSI’s human resource functions serving as information resource on GTSI processes and procedures. Organize and implement faculty and staff recruitment processes. Responsible for initiating and processing HR documentation.

IMPACT & INFLUENCE: This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Local government offices, faculty, staff, postdocs, student employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Participate in the establishment, implementation and update of GTSI human resources policies and procedures.

JOB PURPOSE: Plan, develop and implement communications and promotional strategies to optimize the visibility of GTSI. Oversee multi-media marketing and communications efforts that target internal and external audiences to develop the GTSI narrative and build brand awareness. Build / maintain relationship with the media community.

IMPACT & INFLUENCE: This position will interact on a consistent basis with: faculty, staff, students, alumni, outside vendors, media contacts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Develop and implement comprehensive GTSI communications processes to include website, social media channels, print, email, etc.

 Provide new content for GTSI web site and other media platforms; update and revise existing content to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and consistency.

 Manage GTSI social media channels.

 Edit GTSI Annual Report and other briefs as needed.

 Assist with marketing and recruiting efforts of GTSI academic programs.

 Coordinate, promote and support promotional events and special events on campus.

 Advise GTSI leadership on strategies for content, engagement, monitoring, measurement / metrics, and crisis and issues management.

 Respond to media inquiries and requests.

JOB PURPOSE: Assist GTSI leadership with comprehensive administration of the institute. Serve as the custodian for institutional records inventory and databases. Contribute to the preparation of reports, proposals, briefings, presentations, and responses pertaining to GTSI administrative matters.

IMPACT & INFLUENCE: This position will interact on a consistent basis with: GTSI leadership, faculty, staff, government agencies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Serve as a liaison with various institute offices in support of the overall GTSI operations.

 Prepare and present summary information and briefing documents to senior management.

 Support senior management in the management of official correspondence and communications including letters, emails, speeches, presentations and acknowledgments.

 Maintain and update databases regarding institute records storage and retrieval.

Position 7: Student Affairs Coordinator II

LOCATION: Shenzhen, China

JOB PURPOSE: Provide administrative and logistical support to students and academic programs. Serve as an information source in such areas as policies, procedures, activities and programs involving campus life.

IMPACT& INFLUENCE: This position will interact on a consistent basis with: students, parents, staff and vendors.

KEYRESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties may include but are not limited to:

 Administer student support services programs (e.g. student housing, student events, etc).

 Provide guidance and direction to student advisory groups on related residence life activities and program.

 Serve as a liaison with Georgia Tech Dean of Students' Office as well as the Office of Student Affairs at Tianjin University.

 Implement resident security plans in order to provide for the physical safety and welfare of students residing in assigned area.

 Work with mental health professionals to promote the well-being of GTSI students and provide crisis intervention.

 Assist students in case of illness or emergency.

 Perform other related duties as assigned.

 Respond to inquiries from students (in person, phone, email and social media) regarding a variety of issues such as visa, arrival procedures, lodging, tuition and fee payment, banking, telecom, transportation etc; refer to other areas as appropriate.
